DITXO Port de Pollença

Restaurants in Port de Pollença we keep going back to (with map & vegan options)

There are a range of restaurants in Port de Pollença we keep going back to for unforgettable food. Based in Mallorca, Port de Pollença is a beautiful beach town ideal for a relaxing, but also enjoying unique, interesting and local food.

Locally sourced ingredients and innovative thinking makes up a lot of the food in Port de Pollença, along with just knowing the food was made with love, not just thrown on a plate with no care. After visiting here multiple times, these are hands down the best places for eating as a in Port de Pollença – and they even have vegan options!

La Balada Agua del Mar

A place everyone stops to stare at, like something from a fairy tale. Seating under a fig tree outside of what looks like a charming little house, all lit up beautifully. Instead, it’s a family owned restaurant, La Balada Agua del Mar. From the first step inside, you feel cosy and welcomed. The owner is so friendly, even without the food being amazing you would want to return here.

Now, onto the food. Hearty and wholesome, my favourite type of meal. Big portions, big flavours – you have to finish every last bite. La Balada gives you time to stop and romanticise life, breathing in the fresh sea air under the fig tree, looking out to the twinkles of boats passing by. The owner doesn’t encourage a rushed service, understanding people want to take their time to enjoy the experience. Highly recommend booking in advance and for the outside area – it’s small and they’re always busy (good for them!) so it can be tough to get a table.

There’s something on the menu for everyone, with allergens and vegan options clearly marked – a rarity for Mallorca, bringing a sense of ease to my mind! I tried their vegetable chickpea stir fry with a side of jasmine rice which was gorgeous. The stir fry was well seasoned with delicious flavours of herbs and fresh tomatoes and the rice was perfectly fluffy – top marks! (Badly cooked rice is far to common, don’t you think?!)

I would seriously say this is one of my top restaurants in Port de Pollença and one worth visiting for an evening to remember.

Bellaverde

Similarly to La Balada Agua del Mar, I would describe Bellaverde as whimsical. Completely outdoor seating encased by an array of fig trees and flowers, perfect lighting to create a romantic ambiance, with cats strolling by from a closely located hostel, this place is truly beautiful and like something out of a fairytale.

The location is enough alone to enchant you to book a table, with people wandering by poking their head in – as it’s in a side road, I’m sure they’re thinking “What is this place?!” Many a time I’ve seen people trying to grab a table on the night, which rarely succeeds – this busy restaurant is busy for a reason, it’s one you can’t miss when staying in Port de Pollença.

Away from the location, the food is fantastic. Surprisingly an all vegan restaurant, but don’t let that deter you – every dish is created for all to enjoy. I highly recommend their crispy mushrooms (and I’m not even a mushroom lover!) served with sage and sriracha mayo – the crunch paired with the creaminess is to die for! For dessert, it has to be the chocolate mousse with extra virgin olive oil and pistachios, topped with figs from their trees – wow. The olive oil adds a whole new level to what otherwise would be a great chocolate mousse alone, it’s quite possibly one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Though these are my top recommendations, every dish is so full of flavour and perfectly crafted. I even picked up the owners cookbook to create these stunning dishes at home.

Ditxo

After a day of exploring or chilling on the beach, sometimes all I want is a bowl of goodness – veggies, salad, smoothies, all the good stuff! Ditxo is the perfect place to grab a bowl, with customisations available for every element of your meal. Of all the restaurants in Port de Pollença, I would say this is the best place for smoothies as they’re freshly made and have options for protein and collegin add-ins. They also have freshly made sandwiches, toasts and sweet products made without refined sugar and gluten. There’s even wine and beer on the menu if you’re looking for something to spruce up your afternoon! This is a sunny spot in the afternoon, so enjoy those rays and their delicious, health-conscious food.

Terrae

Based along the same street as Tirano and Dixto, Terrae adds to this little food haven in Puerto Pollenca. An intriguing wooden exterior with a dark, moody interior and a lively atmosphere, this place makes you stop in your tracks when walking past. I’d describe this place as an experience – A Michelin Guide one at that! This team have created something truly unique, harnessing local produce from the island to create a stunning menu. Even down to the spirits and mixers, all are local and carefully chosen.

The menu changes regularly, which means it’s worth returning to for something new every time. They focus on creating zero waste, meaning ingredients are used in interesting ways, creating dishes you’ll never have tried before. There’s nothing standard here, it’s all intriguing to every single sense in the human body.

With omakase options or a menu to choose from yourself, it’s one of those places with so many fantastic options, you’ll find it hard to choose. So, with that in mind, I go for the omakase for ease and amazingly, they are able to adapt their dishes to be fully vegan too which is fantastic for me! The aromas, the textures, the presentation – every single dish is a flavour bomb in your mouth and is so well thought out, and explained in full how to enjoy by the friendly servers. If it’s on the menu, I highly recommend having dessert as throughout the summer months, they use local figs which are so flavoursome.

NATUR

NATUR Port de Pollença

Similarly to Ditxo, NATUR all about the bowls! This is a cute, quick service restaurant based along the seafront with takeaway options and even table service by scanning their QR codes – so convenient! There are so many fantastic options here with allergens clearly marked, including vegan options such as vegan chicken by Huera – so a good protein source with great flavour too.

I recommend grabbing an egg chair out front and ordering a cocktail for views of the sea and relaxed vibes all day (and night!) long.

Tirano Street Food

Tirano Street Food Port de Pollença

Embrace the hustle and bustle of the side streets of Puerto Pollenca – Grab a chair, a drink and get stuck in! Tirano is lively, exciting – if you were ever having a down day, I’d say to go to here to bring a smile to your face. Cocktails, beers, street food. Quick, easy, but not lacking in thought and flavour. Their menu changes occasionally, but there are always a few small plates which are vegan, including the veggie gyozas which are lush, padrón peppers which are cooked to perfection and hummus which is perfectly smooth and silky!

Every single time I come here, it makes me happy how friendly the people are working here – perhaps one of the friendliest restaurants in Port de Pollença!

Trattoria Laroc

Tucked away down the side street of Avenue de Bocchoris behind Pine Walk, Trattoria Laroc is an Italian that’s been around over ten years – it’s one of the well-established restaurants in Port de Pollença. As you leave Pine Walk, you instantly hear the chatter and feel the atmosphere of Laroc and the adjacent restaurants. It’s a great place for a relaxing meal, great drinks and fantastic atmosphere. With fresh pastas, pizza and ample side dishes, there’s a lot to choose from at this Italian.

Llaüt Beach Bar

Llaüt Beach Bar Port de Pollença

Sat with your toes in the sand, Llaüt is the beach bar of my dreams. Not pretentious, no rushing, just purely chilled vibes with a fully packed menu. Cocktails, tapas and even full dishes including salads, sandwiches and burgers, they’ve got everything you need for a relaxed couple of hours on the beach. But don’t be fooled, service is fast which is just what you need when a cocktail is calling your name!

For vegans, Llaüt are able to adapt their vegetable sandwich not to include mozzarella. Doesn’t sound the most exciting, right? Well, I thought the same and was proven absolutely wrong. A fully stacked sandwich full of fresh vegetables, delicious guacamole and the perfect pico de gallo – absolutely epic!
